A French wine gift with two beautiful red Pinot Noirs. Full and rich wines. The wines are packed in a luxury wooden box with sliding lid.
wine 1) Pommard 1er Cru les Chanlins Domaine Chavy-Chouet 2020
Powerful but juicy Pinot Noir with lots of structure, fresh acids, aromas of amarena cherries. Great storage potential!
Ideal accompaniment to dishes with pheasant or partridge, but wild duck also goes very well with this wine.
The grape is grown in a semi-continental climate. The vineyard is closer to Volnay than to Pommard. The chalky soil contains many stones, which makes for mineral wines with soft tannins
Alcohol: 12.5%
Grapes: Pinot Noir
Romaric Chavy has, as he himself puts it, dedicated his life to “ winegrowing with a free-spirited, intense, and dynamic approach ”. His ambition is to make top wines that reflect the essence of their regions of origin – Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, Volnay and Pommard. But whether it concerns AOP Bourgogne wines or Premier Crus, Romaric tends to all his plots with the same love and attention. And… with respect for nature! Romaric works as organically as possible. He forms the seventh generation in a family of winegrowers. The Chouet family originally comes from Meursault, the Chavy's from Puligny, but love brought them together in 1982. Chavy-Chouet owns a total of fifteen hectares and is therefore a real boutique winery.
Wine 2 ) Beaune 1er Cru Clos Des Couchereaux Bourgogne Louis Jadot 2017
Deep ruby red wine with powerful aromas of ripe red fruit. A rich and structured wine with beautiful tannins and lots of potential.
Can be served with numerous meat dishes and cheeses.
Properly stored, this wine can age for 12 to 15 years.
Les Couchereaux is located on the top of the slope in the middle of the commune of Beaune. The vineyards are fully south-facing, the soil is limestone and clay, has good drainage and warms up quickly.
VINIFICATION: The manually harvested grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks.
The wine matures for 12 to 15 months in oak barrels.
Alcohol: 13.5%
Grapes : pinot noir
Maison Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. Originally it was primarily a trading house, but today it owns more than 225 hectares of its own vineyards. The entire range includes wines from Chablis, Côte d'Or, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais and Beaujolais, in the latter case mostly made at its own Château des Jacques. The starting point for all wines is that each vineyard has its own characteristics and that the terroir is therefore leading. For this reason, nature is allowed to take its course as much as possible and winemaker Frédéric Barnier strives to intervene as little as possible during the vinification process. As a result, there is no such thing as a general 'Jadot style', but each wine from Louis Jadot has its own character.
