    • Description

Fine tannies, a mature wine, delicious aromas of sultry cherries and berries. An impressive wine with a full spiciness, a little licorice. A complex masterly Rhone wine with powerful, self-confidence, richness and finesse.

Of the more than twenty hectares of soil covered with coarse boulders, the winemaking team of the domain distinguishes three types of substrates. There is a part with clay and sand, a large well with a sandstone subsoil and a smaller piece of land that consists entirely of sand.

In these grow, facing south-southwest, the grenache, syrah, mourvèdre and vaccarèse-cinsault before the red Sénéchaux. In the respective proportions of 62, 20, 16 and 2 percent, this results in a wine with a beautifully ripe structure.

      Origin: France, Rhone

      alcohol: 15%

      Grapes: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre

      Domaine des Senechaux
Located in the heart of Châteauneuf du Pape, Domaine des Sénéchaux includes some of the oldest vineyards in this mythical wine region. The vineyards of the domain date from the fourteenth century. The name is taken from the nearby Bois de Sénéchaux, where the main vineyards of the domain are also located. Since 2016, the Cazes family owns this beautiful domain. Jean Michel and his son Jean Charles Cazes are also owners of the famous Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac and of Domaine l'Ostal in Languedoc. In Châteauneuf du Pape, they continue the work carried out since 1998 by Bernard Tranchecoste. The Cazes made the necessary investments and in particular renovated a number of vineyards with old sticks of grenache, the main grape for the red Châteauneuf du Pape. Despite these renovations, the Cazes have ensured that the classic appearance and historical significance of the domain and wine cellar have been preserved. In addition to a full, fleshy red Châteauneuf du Pape, Domaine des Sénéchaux also makes a rich and complex white variant.
